Mama Hagglin was established in 2003, almost by accident, when (singer) Jeff Porter (China White/Glory Holes/The Cause/Mike Mart) realized that the simple jams he was playing while goofing off with friend Jonny Phish were, in fact, good songs... only the lyrics were missing. Porter contacted former band mate Sandy Hancock (The Mechanics/Adolescents/22 Jacks), explained the situation and they started rehearsals the next week. A band is born now it needed a name.
