These songs were originally written for pre-school age children at The Washington Market School in New York City to help them learn how to play the game of chess. The songs ended up catapulting us headlong into an exploration of all things medieval. With the help of dedicated parents, we made a huge castle out of cardboard that the children painted, created costumes and performed dances that matched each chess piece.
